Same Story just Different Players

Hi all:

I attended the meeting regarding the Red Oak Quarry that is causing damage to homes in South Fulton and I am suffering from Post Traumatic Stress this morning because I relived our first Town Hall Meeting July 19, 2006.  Our neighbors just off of Old National are dealing with the very same issues!! Corporate hired seismographic testing that tells folks their houses are not being harmed yet their houses have cracks in the walls and foundations and often times when there is a blast their furniture moves and their books and pictures fall off the wall.  The people are ill from breathing in blasting particles but the air has not been tested in the community and the list just goes on!!!

However, I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to be able to give our neighbors of sense of hope.  It is now a proven fact that all of our Task Force efforts are going to have a ripple effect and be able to help other communities replicate what we have done.  Our community should feel so very proud - we are now able to give to others in such a way that truly helps to change peoples lives for the better.

Have a wonderful Friday - I know I am because I know we can help make a difference.

Your neighbor,

Connie
