All Too Familiar

Good Morning Neighbor:

A blessed friend of mine sent me this article this morning and it is all too familiar.  Once again, you will find at the end of the article there are no laws - the very thing we deal with here in Georgia and what so compels me to run for office.

May we all try to make a difference where ever we can - we already know it can be done!!!!

Your Voice is Needed

Good Morning Neighbor:

As I told you last week,  Walker Brothers is suing the Fairburn Town Council, Mayor and City Manager for listening to the citizens and taking a stand for the citizens.  It is so important that you come to Fairburn City Hall this Monday - Oct 22 at 7pm to publicly thank them for doing so.  It doesn't matter where you live - it does matter that when a governmental entity makes a move to do "the right thing" they know that they continue to have the full support of citizens.  There will be a time for public comment at the beginning of the meeting and this will be your time to come forward to say thank you and to let them know you continue to stand behind them.

I look forward to seeing you there!!!

Your neighbor,

Connie

Transfer Station controversy is not over!!

Good Morning Neighbor:

As you are well aware, the Citizens of Fairburn took a major stand and let their voices ring out with regard to a Waste Transfer Station being placed in their community.  The City Council of Fairburn heard them and voted unanimously to not move forward with the Walker Brothers proposal.  So now Walker Brothers is upset that the City Council took such an action and is taking legal action against the City and the City Manager.  Call me simple minded here but the City Council, Mayor and City Manager work for the Citizens.  So the way I see it they did what their bosses asked them to do so Walker Brothers should be taking legal action against the Citizens.  Oh, wait a minute that could never happen because the Citizens are also who ultimately keeps Walker Brothers in business.

Here is the link to the story below - I encourage you to blog and give your opinion on this story.  Also, I am posting this story on thecommunityvoice.tv with a poll as well.

Walker Brothers should seize the opportunity to get on board with the "Green" planning that it is apparent that the Citizens want for their area - they could be talking a win-win situation for all instead of fear and litigation.

Fungus is plaguing air traffic controllers | The Citizen Online

Good Morning Neighbor:

I hope you are planning an awesome weekend!!!

Well, it appears that some of our neighbors are becoming ill once again due to corporate negligence.  It will be interesting to hear if these workers begin to rally and ask that their illnesses be taken seriously.  So often we do not move forward out of fear - this keeps us in check and the status quo maintained - people really do not realize that things can be better if we only dare to take a stand.  Our community stands as an example of one that dares to make a difference!!!!
